Mongar

The journey from Bumthang to Mongar is one of the most beautiful views of Himalayas crossing 3800m high thrimshingla pass. Mongar is the second largest town in the sub-tropical east, built on the side of a Hill. The valley also marks the beginning of the eastern Bhutan.

Mongar Dzong

The present Dzong was rebuilt in the year 1953 and was considered to be one of the Bhutan’s newest Dzong. The Dzong was built in the same traditional style without the use of nail like all the other Dzongs.
