SNOW MAN TREK (24 Days)

ITINEARY

Day01. Arrive Paro
• Our representative will greet u on arrival
• Evening, visit to the town area

Day02. Paro: Excursion Taktsang Monastery
• Hike to Taktsang Monastery, lunch Taksang Cafeteria
• Visit Ta Dzong (built in 1656 and renovated in 1968), an ancient watchtower.
• Rimpung Dzong ( Built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, in 1646)

Day03. Drukgyel Dzong-Sharna Zampa
(Altitude 2850m, Distance 17 km, Walking Time 4-5 hours, Ascent 360 meters, Descent 80 meters)
• Trek start from the Drugyel Dzong, a ruined fortress
• The camp is opposite side of the river

Day04. Shana-Thangthangka
(Altitude 3610m, Distance 22 km, Walking Time 7-8 hours, Ascent 770 meters, Descent 10 meters)
• The trail follow through the river valley
• The camp will be set up in a meadow. From there if weather permit, you can see the great view of Mount Jumolhari

Day05. Thangthangka-Jangothang
Day0(Altitude 4080m, Distance 19 km, Walking Time 5-6 hours, 480 meters Ascent)
• After crossing an army outpost, the trail leads to the beautiful valley, passing the village Soe Takethang
• You could find lots of yaks and the herder’s

Day06. Jangothang Halt
The day in Jangothang provide 3 options for day hikes
• Hike to Jumolhari lies to the West Direction
• Hike to Jichu Drake lies to the North
• Hike to number of unclimbed Peaks lies to the East Direction

Day07. . Jangothang –Lingshi
(Altitude 4010m, Distance 18 km, Walking Time 6-7 hours)
• The trail climbs rapidly for about half an hour and crosses the bridge
• Climb to the Nyilila pass at an altitude of 4870m
• After the pass as you will come down into the lingshi camp, you will enjoy the great view of Lingshi Dzong

Day08. . Lingshi-Chebisa
(Altitude 3880m, Distance 10 km, Walking Time 5-6 hours, Ascent 280 meters, Descent 410 meters)
• After lingshi Dzong, climbing up gently you will reach to a village Gom Yu
• Camp is by the side of the river. You will enjoy the beautiful waterfall. You can also go around the village and enjoy.

Day09. Lingshi-Shakshepasa
Distance 13 km, Walking Time 4 hours)
• Start and climb up through a wide pastureland towards Gobula Pass (4410m)

Day10. Shakshepasa-Robluthang
(18km, Walking Time 7-8 hours)
• (Distance Two hours walk you will reached Jhari la pass( 4640m)
• Camp is at the Robluthang in a rocky meadow

Day11. . Robluthang-Lemithang
(Altitude 4140 meters, Distance 19 km, Walking Time 6-7 hours, Ascent 850 meters, Descent 870 meters)
• Climb slowly up to sinchela pass( 5005m)

Day12. . Lemithang-Laya
(Altitude 3840m, Distance 10 km, Walking Time 4-5 hours, Ascent 60 meters, Descent 340m)
• Walk along a narrow winding river valley, through a deep forest
• The path leads you to a laya village

Day13. Laya (Halt)
(Altitude 3050m, Distance 19km, Walking Time 6-7 hours, Ascent 260 meters, Descent 1070 meters)
• Rest day at laya
• Spent the day visiting the village houses and learning their culture

Day14. Laya-Rodufu
(Distance 19 km, Walking Time6-7hours)
• The trek leads gradually downhill to the Lunana trail junction

Day15. Rodufu-Narethang
(Distance 16 km, Walking Time 8-9 hours)
• It is one of the very long hike
• Hike in the shadow of Gangla Karchung peak (6395m).

Day16. Narethang-Tarina
(Distance 18 km, Walking Time 5-6 hours)
• Hike to Karchumg La Pass at 5240 m
• Later You will reached down to the glacial lake
• Overnight camp at Tarina

Day17. Tarina-Woche
(Distance 15 km, Walking Time 5-6 hours)
• The path leads down to confier forest
• And then down to the woche village at3940m (13000ft)

Day18. Woche-Lhedi
(Distance 19 km, Walking Time 7-8 hours
• It’s a gradual climb from Woche to the Keche La pass at 4580m (15,100 ft),
• Then downhill to Thega village.
• Hike continues to Lhedi village and camp at 3600m (11,800 ft).

Day19. Lhedi-Thanza
(Distance 19 km, Walking Time 6-7 hours)
• The trail follows through the pho chhu to chozo village
• Overnight camp at Thanza 4080 m

Day20. Thanza. (Rest Day)
• Opportunity to meet with the local people in Thanza village

Day21. Thanza-Danji
(Distance 8 km, Walking Time 4 hours)
• Camp at danji 4600m

Day22.Danji-Tso Chena
(Distance 12 km, Walkimg Time 5 hours)
• Climb up to the Jaze La Pass 5050m( 16570 ft)
• And then downhill to the lake(Tsho Chena)at 4800 m

Day23. Tso Chena-Jichu Dramo
(Distance 14 km, Walking Time 4-5 hours)
• The trail climb through Loju La Pass at 4940 m
• Camp is at Jichu Dramo( 4880 m)

Day24. Jichu Dramo-Chukarpo
(Distance 18 km, Walking Time 5-6 hours)
• The trail climb up to Rinchen Zoe La Pass 5290 m(17350 ft)
• And then downhill to Chukarpo which is above the tree line at 4950 m( 16335 ft)

Day25. Chukarpo-Thampe Tso
(Distance 18 km, Walking Time 5-6 hours)
• The walk leads along the river and climb up to the Um So Lake at 4230 m(13950 ft)
• The camp is near the lake

Day26.Thampe Tso-Maurothang
(Distance 14 km, Walking Time 5 hours)
• Climb to the pass at 4580 m
• And then walk down hill through rhododendron bushes to the yak pasture of Maurothang

Day27. Maurothang-Nikachu Chazam. Drive to Punakha
(Distance 23 km, Walking Time 7-8 hours)
• The trek end at Nikachu Chazam
• Drive to Punakha

Day28. Punakha-Thimphu
• Visit Punakha Dzong situated between Pho Chu( Male River) and Mo Chu( Female River)
• Visit chimi Lhakhang( “Temple of Fertility”)
• After lunch, Drive to Thimphu
• Visit Trashi Chhoe Dzong

Day29. Thimphu- Paro
• Visit National Memorial Chorten built in 1974 in honour of our late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk( “Father of Modern Bhutan”’,
• Visit the National Library,
• Institute for Zorig Chusum, commonly known as the Painting School,
• Visit the Handicrafts Emporium
• Afternoon, Drive to Paro

Day30. Paro: Departure
• Breakfast in Hotel, Drive to the Airport, Flight on Druk Air. TASHIDELEK
